CONSULTING SERVICES

We offer a few different ways to structure our fees and will tailor the best application for your situation. You will never be charged for contacting us and having an initial discussion. Anything that we charge a fee for you will be informed of well in advance. Here is the basic structure we use.
Hours Block
1, 5 or 10 hour increments. These can be used when and as you see fit. Hours will apply to over the phone consultation, any work we do for you off site and if you wish for custom visits to our location in VA. We have a software application to track this time that will be visible to you.
Site Visits
We can come out to your farm when it is applicable. The fee is a flatline price for 2 days on location plus travel expenses. For locations within 300 miles of Washington D.C. we can drive to you at a mileage rate. Farther away locations will likely involve airfare. Each day on farm will be up to 12 hours.
Custom Projects
If a project doesn’t fit well into either of these scenarios we will recommend an hours block dedicated to understanding your situation and writing up a project proposal. Should you engage our services on the project the amount paid for an hours block will be credited to the project fee.

PROCESS
Our goal is the give you tools & resources to help yourself through as much of the process as possible. Doing is the best teacher. If you need experienced help with the process or simply another outsider look at what you are doing here is our process for services we charge for.
- Contact us. Fill out a contact form with a brief description of your situation and what you are looking for assistance on. At this time we do not handle questions about dairy, produce or orcharding. We do however have partnerships we can refer you over to.
- On receiving your contact form we will email or message you to arrange a good time for a phone call. This first conversation is to flesh out your situation and answer any questions you may have. There is no charge.
- Should we determine that your situation is inside the scope of what we do, we will email you a basic proposal of the services we can offer and the associated costs. At this time you can decide if you would like to proceed or make adjustments to the scope of the proposal.
- On deciding to engage our services a 50% upfront payment of the fee is necessary before we can focus on your project. Travel fees will need to be paid prior to the site visit. The balance of the fee is due on completion. Purchasing a hours block is upfront.
